111 must-see places in Helsinki

White city by the sea

Helsinki, capital of sauna inventors, centre of Nordic design and home of Finnish serenity. A lively metropolis in the far north, constantly changing, but unthinkable without traditional market halls, harbour, riverside cafés and promenades. Helsinki's secret is the mix of diverse urban life, unspoilt nature and its relaxed inhabitants.

Beauty of Baltic Sea

The book does not describe the usual places of interest, which have already been discussed in all travel guides. Instead, "111 must-see places in Helsinki" presents squares, places and spots, which are not yet in any travel guide: unusual, surprising and mysterious places. Favourite places of the locals, cosy cafés and the best places for picnics or sunsets.

Inspiration is provided by impressions of the award-winning Finnish photographer Juha Metso. He has travelled to more than 60 countries in 30 years and has published his photo reports in newspapers and magazines. He has received several awards, including Press Photographer of the Year in Finland.

The book is really full of surprises. Even if you haven't been to Helsinki yet, it's fun to flip through it and let your mind drift through the city. From the newest sauna to the oldest communist to the travelling pub. At the same time, you learn a lot about the country and its people. Lovingly researched and well written, absolutely recommendable.
Review Amazon
What I love about your work is that you describe people. It makes places unique. Through tourism, you get to know the country more, people less. But through your eyes it does. So I say the one word I learned: Kiitos!
